Here’s a Towne Crier show you can attend in your pajamas!
On Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 6:30 pm (EDT), I’ll be sharing the stage with my friends, Elly Wininger, Lydia Adams Davis, and Judy Kass, three women whom I admire and am honored to share a stage with. We’ll be live-streaming the entire show from the Towne Crier’s beautiful stage. You’ll be able to watch this as it live-streams on the Towne Crier’s Facebook Page and on YouTube (thanks to Rick Gedney’s brilliance and help with tech)! I’ll send out a reminder the day of. I hope you can come! So, whatcha gonna wear? ;-)
Sisters in Song is a collaborative project featuring four diverse Hudson Valley-based powerhouses of music: Lydia Adams Davis, Judy Kass, Elly Wininger and Marji Zintz.
A portion of the proceeds from this live-streamed show will go to support The Towne Crier during this challenging time.
Hailed by the New York Times as “a splendid performer” and “one of our finest folk composers,” Lydia Adams Davis is a veteran of the NY folk music scene. Whether composing improvised political satire for a coffeehouse audience or leading an educational sing-a-long for children, Lydia’s energy and exuberance have captivated audiences of all ages across the US and Europe.
Judy Kass draws in her audience with soulful vocals and genre-bending exploration of guitar and piano. Her debut album, “Better Things,” and her CD, “Beyond the Ash and Steel,” both appeared on the Folk DJ List of Top Albums. Judy was recently named First-Place Winner in the Singer/Songwriter category of the 21st Great American Song Contest.
NY Blues Hall of Fame inductee and Adelphi Records recording artist, Elly Wininger is known for her engaging performances and her accomplished finger style guitar playing. She has won numerous awards for her songwriting as well. Also a veteran of the NYC scene in the 70s and 80s, Elly now tours nationally.
Acoustic guitarist/vocalist Marji Zintz is a gifted, soulful interpreter, performing a hybrid of contemporary folk, rock, and jazz. “Marji puts an indelibly personal stamp on songs…and accompanies her voice with sophisticated and skillful guitar work.” – The Folk Project.
