Live at the Towne Crier with Bruce Jay Milner & Me

The Towne Crier Café, 379 Main Street, Beacon, New York

Grab your mask and your favorite person(s) and come to the Towne Crier on Sunday, November 1 to enjoy a sumptuous meal, a delectable dessert, and some wonderful music provided by Marji Zintz and Bruce Jay Milner (voice & piano).

Reservations are strongly recommended: 845-855-1300 Also, call 'em if you have any questions about staying safe there.

Speaking of which, the Towne Crier is deeply committed to its diners' and performers' safety (and their own). To that end, here are the guidelines being observed to keep everyone safe and to keep music alive (thank you, Towne Crier!!):

Dear Friends,

It’s been great seeing many of you in recent weeks as we’ve reopened. We’ve had some fabulous music to enhance your dining experience.

In order for us to continue presenting live music, please follow these guidelines:

• Face masks are required for all guests and staff. A guest who arrives without a mask will be supplied with one.

• The only time a guest may remove their face mask is when seated at their table.

• We can seat up to 10 people at a table, but they have to arrive at the same time. If they arrive separately, we can’t group them together at the same table. Advance reservations are recommended.

• Guests must remain seated except for necessary reasons, such as using the restroom. Please do not get up and socialize with guests at other tables.

• Maintain physical distancing whenever possible.

If a guest refuses to comply with these guidelines, they will be asked to leave.

We hope you understand that this is a matter of public safety

• we’ve seen what has happened in other states where safety has not been taken seriously – as well as the survival of the Towne Crier. The state is enforcing a “three strikes, you’re closed” rule. In our 48 years of operating the Towne Crier, we’ve never been issued even one violation; we’re proud of that record and want to keep it that way!

We all want to have a good time, but we need to be safe while doing so. Thanks to everyone who has been cooperating with the guidelines. You are helping to keep the COVID infection rate down. As the Governor keeps saying: “It’s up to us, New York”!

Looking forward to seeing you very soon.

Peace on Earth, Phil and everyone here at the Towne Crier

Music at the Towne Crier!

The Towne Crier Café, 379 Main Street, Beacon, New York

Music at the Towne Crier in the Salon for Sunday supper! Enjoy the delicious food, the sweet ambiance, and lots of fine music! Bring your mask and your appetite!

Things to know: NYS has new regulations that prohibit venues from promoting their music. The Towne Crier is a music establishment, and as you can imagine, they're struggling to keep their nose above the waterline so that WHEN (not if) we go back to whatever "normal" is, we will have a thriving music venue to enjoy! Won't you please come and support them by letting them make supper for you? Thank you!

Sisters in Song - A Live-stream event with Lydia Adams Davis, Judy Kass, Elly Wininger, and Marji Zintz

The Towne Crier Café

Howdy, Friends!

Here’s a Towne Crier show you can attend in your pajamas!

On Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 6:30 pm (EDT), I’ll be sharing the stage with my friends, Elly Wininger, Lydia Adams Davis, and Judy Kass, three women whom I admire and am honored to share a stage with. We’ll be live-streaming the entire show from the Towne Crier’s beautiful stage. You’ll be able to watch this as it live-streams on the Towne Crier’s Facebook Page and on YouTube (thanks to Rick Gedney’s brilliance and help with tech)! I’ll send out a reminder the day of. I hope you can come! So, whatcha gonna wear? ;-)

Sisters in Song is a collaborative project featuring four diverse Hudson Valley-based powerhouses of music: Lydia Adams Davis, Judy Kass, Elly Wininger and Marji Zintz.

A portion of the proceeds from this live-streamed show will go to support The Towne Crier during this challenging time.

Hailed by the New York Times as “a splendid performer” and “one of our finest folk composers,” Lydia Adams Davis is a veteran of the NY folk music scene. Whether composing improvised political satire for a coffeehouse audience or leading an educational sing-a-long for children, Lydia’s energy and exuberance have captivated audiences of all ages across the US and Europe.

Judy Kass draws in her audience with soulful vocals and genre-bending exploration of guitar and piano. Her debut album, “Better Things,” and her CD, “Beyond the Ash and Steel,” both appeared on the Folk DJ List of Top Albums. Judy was recently named First-Place Winner in the Singer/Songwriter category of the 21st Great American Song Contest.

NY Blues Hall of Fame inductee and Adelphi Records recording artist, Elly Wininger is known for her engaging performances and her accomplished finger style guitar playing. She has won numerous awards for her songwriting as well. Also a veteran of the NYC scene in the 70s and 80s, Elly now tours nationally.

Acoustic guitarist/vocalist Marji Zintz is a gifted, soulful interpreter, performing a hybrid of contemporary folk, rock, and jazz. “Marji puts an indelibly personal stamp on songs…and accompanies her voice with sophisticated and skillful guitar work.” – The Folk Project.

See you on the Internet!

Love,

Marji
