One of the best places to be!!!
(EDT, UTC-04) (EDT, UTC-04)
Six years ago, things were weird! We were wearing masks on our faces (I had crocheted ours with a pouch for coffee filters!), the roads were deserted (my favorite part), gigs were nonexistent, and people were trying to stay alive. That's when "livestreaming" became the way for us musicians to connect with music-lovers. Quaranpalooza started back then, and it's still going! Quaranpalooza features fine musicians from all over the globe, includes various genres, AND supports a worthy cause.

Hudson Valley Folks Guild - Redeemer Lutheran Church, 90 NY-32 S, New Paltz, NY
One of the sweetest shows I get to play is when I am asked to be the featured performer at one of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild chapters! It's always an enthusiastic "yes" for me!!! Not only is it a wonderful room to listen to music, but if you perform, too, it's a warm, receptive audience! The open mic sign-up starts at 7 pm, the open mic performances start at 7:30, and I'll do a set somewhere around 8:30 pm.
Here are the details:
Open mic performances will be available to all. The cost of admission for this event is $7 ($6 for Folk Guild members and seniors). Sign-up begins at 7, and open mic begins at 7:30. The featured performance is expected to begin at approximately 8:30.
This chapter has a new home: The Redeemer Lutheran Church, 90 NY-32 South, New Paltz, NY. Here's a link to a map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/yyLSvAaMdpqLuVKS7

Colony Woodstock Beer Garden, 22 Rock City Road, Woodstock, NY
Join us for an evening of poetic rock on our outdoor main stage!
Colony Presents: 'Mark Donato & Marji Zintz' In The Garden Featuring: Marji Zintz, Mark Donato and Jay Godfrey!
6 - 7pm: Mark Donato grew up musically in southwestern Pennsylvania, Downtown New York City, and Upstate New York. He's worked as a drummer and singer with John Linnell of They Might Be Giants, Amy Allison, Flat Old Word, Rosine, and the Oswalds, while piling up songs for his own releases.
He writes eccentric and poetic rock songs and earthy, experimental pop that's profound and tuneful, layered with subtle irony, humanistic pathos, and a kind of psychological perfect pitch.
He has 7 full-length records and many more songs ready to be dressed and served. His new record is called "Community Theater," in honor of the honorable tradition of locals performing for locals, and locals listening. Joining Mark on the record, and in his live appearances, are some of the finest musicians in the Hudson Valley.

7 - 9pm: Acoustic guitarist and vocalist Marji Zintz, living and performing in the Catskills/Hudson Valley region of New York, is a gifted, soulful interpreter performing a hybrid of contemporary folk, rock, and jazz. “Marji puts an indelibly personal stamp on songs from such diverse writers as Aimee Mann, Mark Knopfler, and George Gershwin...and accompanies her voice with sophisticated and skillful guitar work.” ~The Folk Project
With a voice that has been likened to Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones, Eva Cassidy, Shawn Colvin, and Billie Holiday, Marji has performed thousands of shows and has recorded as a soloist and in larger ensembles in the jazz and folk genres, such as a mostly a capella recording and performance project called “Sister Sound.”
In addition to her extensive solo work, Marji is currently part of an exciting new project, “Becoming Human,” with Jim Kunkel on guitars and Mickey Kopchak on effects & bass and vocals, and occasionally Ron Wilson on drums/percussion, performing original songs of observation, realization, and transformation. Becoming Human defies categorization, but it has the improvisational feel of jazz and the soulful feeling of folk/rock/alternative.
